Sydney FC will face Melbourne City without their skipper and top scorer Alex Brosque, who has been ruled out with a recurring hamstring injury.
Brosque's inclusion in Saturday night's blockbuster at AAMI Park has been touch and go since he limped off the field last weekend.
The 32-year-old striker netted his fourth and fifth goals this season in the Sky Blues' 4-1 home rout of Central Coast but lasted only 26 minutes before he felt his hamstring tighten up again.
It was his first game back after sitting out the previous two games with the same issue.
Brosque's absence, along with the suspended Matt Simon, forces coach Graham Arnold to reshuffle his forward line.
Shane Smeltz (groin) has been named in the squad to make his return, while Slovak winger Filip Holosko is again available.
It leaves the door open for 18-year-old George Blackwood to secure a second start of the season, while Andrew Hoole could retain his starting place on the left wing.
Sydney are in fourth place on the ladder, equal on 20 points with third-placed City.
