Simon slams Mariners' losing entertainment

Sydney FC striker Matt Simon has taken a swing at his former A-League club Central Coast for putting entertaining football above important results.

Mariners owner Mike Charlesworth recently ruffled more feathers at the already-disrupted club by saying he didn't care how many matches the side lost, because he perceived adventurous attacking play as the main drawcard for fans.

"If they want entertainment they'll go to Erina Fair (shopping centre) or down to the Crown Plaza to get it. When they go to the football they want to see their team win, and I know the players want to win as well," said Simon, who played for the Mariners for nine years.
