Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold has opted not to bite back at Newcastle counterpart Scott Miller's criticism of the Sky Blues' tactics, saying he will gladly take advice from the rookie manager.
Ahead of their home-opener against Sydney on Saturday, the youngest coach in A-League history tossed the first barb at the vastly experienced Arnold by expressing his surprise at their lack of defensive intensity.
However Arnold bit his tongue on Friday, dismissing the idea that Miller's comments were pure gamesmanship.
"Before a game you don't normally get advice from opposition coaches," Arnold said.
"It's fantastic advice that we'll take on board."
Arnold also revealed marquee signing Filip Holosko was a 50-50 chance of playing due to a hamstring complaint.
