Former Serbian U21 international Milos Dimitrijevic has signed a new one-year deal with Sydney FC, with new coach Graham Arnold sewing up the second of five import spots for next season.
The classy midfielder impressed after joining the Sky Blues midway through last season and joins fellow Serbian Nikola Petkovic – who won the club’s 2013-2014 Player of the Year award – as Arnold’s only current imports on the Sydney FC books.
Sydney are still on the hunt for a marquee import to replace Alessandro Del Piero, with the likes of Diego Forlan, Nicholas Anelka and Didier Drogba believed to be in their sights.
Meanwhile, long-serving Sky Blues goal keeper Ivan Necevski has also re-signed for another year. The 34-year-old Sydney native has spent the last two seasons as back-up to Vedran Janjetovic and will most likely have to be content to play second fiddle for a third straight season.
Have your say: Do you agree with the decision to re-sign Dimitrijevic?
